The National Palace of Culture in Sofia hosts on February 1 and 2 the informal meeting of ministers responsible for competitiveness in sections Industry and Research. The event is within the frameworks of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Ministers and representatives of EU member states have been attending the event. The future of scientific research and innovations in Europe will be in the focus of discussions on February 2. EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas told the Bulgarian National Radio that the next multiannual financial frameworks of the EU should provide more money for science and innovations. Bulgaria’s Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev noted that in the coming decades there will be deficit of personnel in all sectors and public systems.
