Switzerland has made a donation to the volunteer units set up at different municipalities of Bulgaria.

The donation is a contribution to the efforts of the mayors from the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria aimed at restoring the functions of volunteers for coping with fires and disasters in this country in support of professionals in crisis situations.

At this time the number of organized volunteers in Bulgaria exceeds 3,000. Their efforts receive financial support from the national budget. The donation was made with the assistance of the Bulgarian embassy in Switzerland and Ambassador Meglena Plugchieva.
