Belene NPP project has attracted serious investment interest since February

Bulgarian Ministry of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said in parliament that since mid-February the Belene NPP project has attracted serious interest from China’s largest state-owned nuclear company, CNNC.

Last week, the European Investment Bank also said it was interested in funding the project. An experts’ working group was set up to make proposals for the most rational use of the Belene NPP equipment, which was bought by Bulgaria before the project was stopped, Minister Petkova also informed.
