At a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov announced that the extension of the gas pipeline to Turkey in the section between “Lozenets” compressor station and Nedyalsko could be opened at the end of June.

This project is key to developing the existing interconnection between the gas systems of the two countries, and its construction will enhance the natural gas transiting potential from Bulgaria towards Turkey up to 15.7 cubic metres a year, the Bulgarian PM said.

The sides agreed that relations between Bulgaria and Turkey are special and a model of goodneighbourhood. Binali Yildirim conveyed condolences after the military helicopter crash near Plovdiv, in which two were killed and one injured.
