No cases of African swine fever registered in Bulgaria

The results of the laboratory tests of the wild boar which was found dead last week near Shabla are negative and rule out categorically the existence of an African swine fever virus in Bulgaria, the Director of the National Reference Laboratory Dr Emilia Ivanova announced.  Meanwhile, the number of swine fever cases registered in neighboring Romania has increased. The Romanian authorities announced that over 500 swine fever outbreaks were registered in different areas of Romania, mainly along the delta of the Danube River and near the border with Hungary.
