A building of solid construction with walls almost 80 cm. high was found during archaeological excavations at the Tuida fortress near Sliven, which dates back to Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
At the end of the 6th and the beginning of the 7th century the fortress is known to have been burnt down and razed to the ground. It was later restored and existed into the 13th and 14th century when it was abandoned. The finds unearthed on site include a silver earring, coins and many household objects, evidence that the place was densely populated and lived a robust economic life.
