Taybe Yusein, Bulgaria, won the world wrestling championship in the 62-kilogram category at the championship in Budapest, after winning a 6-2 victory versus Yukako Kawai, Japan.

This is the biggest success in Yusein’s career. Earlier this year she became European champion, but, until now, had only won two silver medals at world championships. Taybe Yusein is the second Bulgarian female competitor to have won a gold medal at a world championship after Stanka Slateva. Bilyana Dudova won the silver in the 57-kilogram category, after losing to Ningning Rong, China.
