At a meeting with Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, the ambassador of Montenegro to Bulgaria Snezana Radovic stated that her country has an interest in taking part in the construction of the Belene Nuclear Power Plant project with a minority stake.

Just one day earlier the Bulgarian government approved a procedure for finding a strategic investor or several smaller investors for Belene. The idea to include neighbouring countries in the project goes back a long time. It was first formulated by former President Georgi Parvanov and was later taken up by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
