Bulgaria’s fourth President Rossen Plevneliev (2012-2017) received the highest French distinction the Legion of Honor at a ceremony held at the Embassy of France in Sofia. The Ambassador of France to Bulgaria H.E. Eric Lebedel bestowed the order to President Plevneliev. “I am proud that I was the President who said on the first day of my term in office that to me the EU would not be foreign policy, but a family. I worked from day one for the confidence of the European leaders and received that confidence", Rossen Plevneliev said. Together we were defending the vision, the future and the values of the European Union in difficult times, Bulgaria’s former President Plevneliev said in his speech.
