The Bulgarian working group established to assess the offers for acquisition of new multi-role fighter aircraft for the Bulgarian air forces came up with a proposal to the Bulgarian government to start negotiations with the USA for acquisition of new F-16 fighter jets. Bulgaria also received offers for new Gripen (Sweden) and used Eurofighter (Italy) aircraft.
