Bulgarian National Bank presents coin commemorating Plovdiv European Capital of Culture initiative

On the occasion of the initiative Plovdiv European Capital of Culture, the Bulgarian National Bank presented a silver commemorative coin which will be put into circulation on 7 January.

Bulgaria’s second biggest city Plovdiv was proclaimed European Capital of Culture for 2019 by the European Commission, alongside Matera, Italy. The grand opening of the initiative will be on 12 January, when a unique show will be mounted with the participation of more than 1,500 actors.
