“The Future of Public Media Service in the Digital Era” International Conference organized by the Bulgarian National Radio and the Bulgarian National Television at the end of January discussed digital transformation, legal frameworks and public media funding. The forum was opened by Maria Gabriel – Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society. It gathered journalists, media analysts, representatives of NGOs, media experts and MP’s who discussed issues like the lack of adequate financing, challenges of changing media environment and the competition of the social media.
EBU Head of Radio Graham Dixon presented a study by the Reuters Institute that explored the trust in the public media in 22 European countries. According to the survey, Bulgarian public media enjoy the greatest confidence among the audience.
