Now is the biggest debate in Bulgaria on the accession to the Eurozone. We have a clear strategic goal-full integration within the EU structures which means full membership in the Schengen Area and the Eurozone, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev commented in Lisbon. We say yes to the Eurozone membership, but we must make a very comprehensive risk assessment and undertake clear measures to minimize the potential risks for the Bulgarian economy. Otherwise, the Bulgarian citizens will bear the possible negative consequences, President Radev warned. Bulgaria must defend its interests as Portugal, Bulgaria’s head of state pointed out and noted that a special budget aimed at boosting competitiveness of the less developed countries should be established within the Eurozone.
