Podkrepa Confederation of Labour marks 30 years since its foundation

At its 10th congress in Sofia, the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour marked 30 years since its foundation.

Addressing the participants, President Rumen Radev pointed out that since 1989 the Confederation has been actively involved in important events, and that the people who set it up are more than a handful of people who embraced a cause – the cause of human rights.

History, and especially the history of your organization shows that all important social rights have been hard fought for,” said the President and expressed the hope that the Confederation may  “live up to the expectations of the citizens of Bulgaria.”

Podkrepa chairman Dimitar Manolov on his part stated that the Confederation could nominate an independent candidate of its own for the European Parliament.
