Brazil wants to revive ties with Bulgaria

Brazil wants to revive its ties with Europe and Bulgaria, this country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ernesto Araujo told Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva. Ministers Araujo and Zaharieva met in Warsaw within the frameworks of the Conference on Peace and Security in the Middle East. The Bulgarian community in Brazil can bridge our countries, Ekaterina Zaharieva pointed out during the meeting. Ernesto Araujo and Ekaterina Zaharieva exchanged ideas from Brazil’s and Bulgaria’s experience in sustainable agriculture, tourism development and environment protection fields. Brazil is Bulgaria’s major trading partner from Latin America. However, bilateral trade decreased in the recent years. In 2017 trade between Bulgaria and Brazil amounted to USA 49 million.
