Parliament approved, at second reading, the Population Census and Census of Housing in Bulgaria Act in 2021.
As in the rest of the EU members, the census will provide information about the exact number of the population and housing; the structure of the population by sex, age, education, economic activity, as well as other demographic and ethno-cultural markers; the characteristics of housing in the country. The census data will serve as the basis for all policies during the upcoming EU programming period.
