Bulgarian Orthodox Church works for autocephaly of Ohrid Archbishopric

Now that the naming dispute is resolved and we already know the name of our neighbor North Macedonia I believe that we are on the road to joy. This was how Bulgaria’s Patriarch Neophyte answered the question whether the Bulgarian Orthodox Church continued to support the demand for autocephaly of the Ohrid Archbishopric.  With God’s help we will do the necessary to make the joy of our brothers in North Macedonia complete, Patriarch Neophyte commented during the hierarchical divine liturgy on occasion to the great Christian feast Annunciation held in Saint Sofia church in Bulgaria’s capital.
