A 2-metre monument of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was “erected” in Sofia on 1 April, and remained there for several hours.
The monument, made of plastic with red glowing eyes, had a built-in speaker, which broadcast popular lines from statements made by the PM. The figure was taken down by its author Andrey Vrabchev. The sculptor said that his message was that everything contemporary figures do will one day be "read" by history. Boyko Borissov himself posted a photograph of the monument to his social media profile with the words: Happy 1 April!
