Start given to registration of parties for EP elections

The Central Electoral Commission has begun the receipt of registration documents of parties, coalitions and initiative committees for participation in the elections for European Parliament on 26 May.

GERB political party was the first to register, with documents submitted by GERB deputy chair and chairman of the party's national election headquarters Tsvetan Tsvetanov. Two of the positions on the GERB list of candidates are for the Union of Democratic Forces (SDS). The two parties have set themselves the target of 8 MEPs in the next European Parliament.

The registration of parties will continue until 10 April, of initiative committees – until 15 April.
