The Three Seas initiative should leave the realm of politics and turn to concrete connectivity projects in Eastern Europe, said President Rumen Radev in Ljubljana.

Three Seas initiative includes the 12 EU member states located between the Adriatic, the Baltic and the Black Seas.

“We want clear investment-raising principles and clear criteria of identifying the priority projects,” President Radev said. A priority for Bulgaria is the reconstruction of the Rouse-Varna railway line, the construction of a tunnel under Petrohan Pass and the extension of the gas storage facility at Chiren.

The Bulgarian President wants this country to take part in the Via Carpathia transnational highway network connecting Lithuania with Greece, and for the section across Bulgarian territory to include financing for the Vidin-Sofia highway.
