We have a quota of 2,000 people, yet we are not able to attract students from abroad who have Bulgarian self-awareness, said Vice-President Iliyana Yotova at the opening of the Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture held at Veliko Tarnovo University. Yotova thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education for the package of measures included in the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act, which would facilitate the residence of students of Bulgarian origin in Bulgarian universities. The Vice-President added that she was doing the necessary in order for Bulgarian language to become an irrevocable condition for acquiring Bulgarian citizenship. The seminar organized by the Sts. Cyril and Methodius University this year attracted to the old Bulgarian capital 110 participants from 36 countries on 4 continents.
