The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarian citizens planning to travel to the UK in 2020 should possess and carry a valid international bio metric passport. If the UK left the EU without an agreement in 2020, London would gradually restrict the ability to travel to and from the UK using just ID cards. It has not yet been announced when the new requirements would come into force. Up-to-date information on Brexit can be found on the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry's website in the section 'What do we need to know about Brexit?' as well as on the website of the Bulgarian Embassy in London.
