15% of Bulgarian students who complete secondary education continue their studies abroad

15% or nearly 6,500 of thehigh-school graduates in Bulgaria continue their education in a university abroad. Great Britain continues to be the most desired destination for the Bulgarian students. The interest of Bulgarian student in the Netherlands has increased, because the foreign students from the EU countries pay lower semester fees, the universities offer good student loan opportunities and the number of subjects taught in English has been on the rise. The pupils who graduate from foreign language high schools in Bulgaria often choose Spain and Italy, the survey of World Education project shows. Denmark and Sweden also attract many Bulgarian student in the recent years, because they offer accessible and free of charge university education for students from the EU.
