Harsher sanctions for cybercrimes discussed at forum in Sofia

Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Chairperson of the Cybersecurity Council Mariana Nikolova headed a discussion in Sofia on the necessity of harsher punishments for cybercrime. Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Danail Kirilov, representatives of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior, the State Agency for National Security, the National Investigation Service and representatives of the professional organizations of the Bulgarian lawyers, prosecutors and investigators attended the forum. By the end of the month, the participants must submit proposals for sanctions that will correspond to the rapid progress in the field of information technologies and the changing cybersecurity environment.
