Voter turnout at 1 pm was 23.54%: Central Election Commission

Voter turnout in Bulgaria at 1 pm was 23.54%, the spokesperson of the Central Election Commission Alexander Andreev announced. In 2015 voter turnout at 1 pm was slightly higher- 25.71%. According to data of Gallup sociological agency, higher voter turnout was registered in the cities of Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad and lower voter turnout was registered in Varna and Kardzhali. Traditionally, by this time, voters from smaller towns and villages, the elderly and the loyal voters cast their ballots, Gallup notes. We met four demands of Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General to strip off the immunity of candidates for mayors and municipal councilors due to violations, the spokesperson of the Central Election Commission Alexander Andreev announced.
