Ruling coalition nominates Emil Dimitrov for new Environment Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and VMRO Chairman Krassimir Karakachanov has nominated Emil Dimitrov from the United Patriots for the post of Minister of Environment and Water. The ministerial post was vacated after the former environment minister Neno Dimov resigned over charges of mismanagement that caused the water crisis in Pernik. 

Emil Dimitrov was born in the town of Pernik. Under the government of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Dimitrov was head of the Customs Directorate. His main task now will be to conduct an inspection of the water supply system in all towns and villages that are at risk of a water crisis, Karakachanov said. 

Dimitrov's nomination must be approved by parliament.
