A flu epidemic has been declared in half of the regions in Bulgaria- Plovdiv, Sliven, Vidin, Kyustendil, Silistra, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Sofia city, Sofia district, Blagoevgrad, Pernik and Pazardzhik. Over 1,300 schools throughout the country went on flu holiday. Elective surgeries and hospital visits are restricted in the abovementioned districts. Medical consultations for children and women are also suspended.
