In order to limit the spread of the coronavirus on the territory of Bulgaria, Bulgaria’s state institutions come up with a set of measures and recommendations for citizens, companies and organizations.

Ministry of Health

From March 13 to March 29, the following anti-epidemic measures are in force in Bulgaria:
Visits to amusement and gambling halls, discos, bars, shopping centres, catering establishments are discontinued, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies and drug stores;
Classes and all extracurricular activities (clubs, green schools, field trips, etc.) are discontinued in schools, universities and other training institutions and organizations. Where possible, e-learning form is introduced;
Children's visits to day nurseries and kindergartens are suspended;
All group forms of activity and work with children and students outside the pre-school and school education system, organized and conducted by individuals and legal entities, regardless of their legal and organizational form, are suspended;
All kinds of mass events, including sports, cultural and entertaining and scientific events (cinemas, theaters, concerts, museums, conferences, symposia, sports and SPA centers, gyms, etc.) are suspended;
All employers, depending on the specifics and capabilities of the respective work activity, should introduce a remote form of work for their employees. Where this is not possible, employers should ensure enhanced anti-epidemic measures in the workplace, including: filter, disinfection and ventilation, coaching for personal hygiene of staff and prevent employees or outsiders with acute infectious diseases;
Consultations for children and pregnant women, prophylactic examinations and immunizations,planned operations, including the transplantation of organs from living and carcass donors, and visits to all medical establishments shall be suspended;
The duration and scope of the measures may vary depending on the development of the epidemic situation in the country.

Ministry of Labour and Social Policy

Flexible working hours and remote work should be introduced by employers as a precautionary measure for employees. In order to protect the health of their staff, employers can transform all free spaces into new working stations and place internal barriers between workstations. It is recommended that adjournments, conferences, seminars and trainings be postponed or organized through online platforms. Flexible working hours can be combined with remote work, thus avoiding clustering of workers and interrupting an efficient workflow.

Ministry of Education and Science

The holiday for students announced because of the seasonal flu in different areas of the country has been extended. Mayors of settlements may also decide to suspend training. Enhanced disinfection measures have been put in place in schools where the learning process takes place. School events, trips, excursions and site visits have been discontinued outside schools. The planned competitions and Olympiads have been postponed until the permission for holding mass events by the National Operational Headquarters.

Ministry of Tourism

It is recommended to stop visits to tourist sites, as well as to cancel tourist festivals and events in the Gabrovo and Pleven districts by the second order. The recommendations are based on the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers on 8 March 2020, the orders of the National Operational Headquarters and the meeting of the Expert Group on Emergency Situations established by order of the Minister of Tourism on infection and measures to limit the spread –

National Revenue Agency (NRA in English)

The NRA calls on all its clients to refrain from visiting offices throughout the country, except in an emergency. Customers with a PIC (Personal Identification Code) or electronic signature can use the NRA's electronic services. All budget inquiries and payments can be made online. Information can be obtained by calling 0700 18 700 or by email.

National Social Security Institute

The NSSI also calls on its clients to refrain from a personal visit to the institution's offices. Alternative forms of contact with the NSSI are in the form of over 70 electronic services, a Contact Center (0 700 14 802), letters or e-mail (noi@nssi.bg).

Bulgarian State Railways

A coordination centre has been set up at the BDZ to monitor the situation and the implementation of the instructions for further processing of train compositions and work premises with disinfectants. Locomotives, wagons and train trains are disinfected after being thoroughly cleaned at the landfills and once more before leaving the starting station. In addition, the contact surfaces - doors, doors, compartments, bathrooms, etc. are cleaned.
