After the imposition of even more stringent measures to check the spread of COVID-19, as of midnight last night, lines of cars, kilometres long, formed at the entrances and exits of the regional towns in the country. The police are checking the documents of the drivers.

A total of 342 British tourists have left Bansko over the past few days, after the ski resort in Mount Pirin was quarantined.  The buses were provided by the British embassy in Bulgaria and were escorted to the airport by police. Around 50 British nationals remain in their homes in Bansko, some are under home quarantine.

There are still Russian citizens left in Bansko as well, who own apartments there. They have all been informed and are following the instructions and complying with the prohibitions.

Three ventilators have been purchased via the volunteer campaign "ЗаДоброто срещу #bgcovid-19" (#Forthegood campaign #bgcovid-19), two have already been delivered to Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia. The third will go to the hospital St. George in Plovdiv on Monday.

Against the background of the lack of protective face masks or their excessive price in pharmacies across the country, Levski municipality in Northern Bulgaria decided to have reusable masks sеwn and given to the entire population of 20,000, free of charge.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works will allow the temporary suspension of projects under cross-border cooperation programmes with Turkey, Serbia and North Macedonia due to the state of emergency. For the purpose, the lead partners in the projects have to submit an application for temporary suspension.

Amateur running clubs have called on the government and the crisis staff to allow individual open-air sports, in strict compliance with all necessary measures.
