Bulgarian Dobromir Karamarinov elected interim President of European Athletics

The President of the Bulgarian Athletic Federation Dobromir Karamarinov was elected interim President of the European Athletic Association until October 21. Karamarinov replaces European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen who suffered a severe stroke and has to recover from this illness. Te decision was taken at a video conference meeting of the Executive Board of the European Athletics. According to the rules of the federation, in the event of the President’s inability to perform his duties, the First Vice President of the European Athletics becomes in charge until the next congress. Dobromir Karamarinov has been serving his second term in office as First Vice President of European Athletics. He is a member of the World Athletics Council and President of the Association of the Balkan Athletics Federations since 2010.
