95 years ago on this date in 1925, the biggest terrorist attack in Bulgarian history was perpetrated at the Saint Nedelya Church in central Sofia. It was organized by agents of the then illegal Bulgarian Communist Party. More than 200 people were killed and died from their wounds.

The purpose of the assassins was to liquidate Bulgaria's Tsar Boris III and other key political and military figures expected to attend the church service. The main target - King Boris III, however, was not present at the time of the attack.
