PM Borissov: Bulgaria has not blocked North Macedonia's negotiations with EU

We are the country that was the first one  to make it possible to talk about our dear brothers and sisters joining the EU via the Good Neighbourliness Treaty, Bulgaria's PM Boyko Borissov told the Sitel TV channel in Skopje commenting on speculations that Bulgaria was blocking North Macedonia's path to EU accession.

"At the last European Council, we talked about maximum support for North Macedonia and Albania, so everything is in the hands of the Macedonians. I defended you in the council in every way possible even when they did not even want to involve you in the negotiations," Borissov added.
Asked why Sofia does not recognize the Macedonian language, Borissov responded that one explanation was the fact that the interview broadcast live over the Internet was not translated.
