Bulgaria is counting on a tourist season as of 15 June

“The summer tourism strategy is counting on Bulgarians and on tourists from neighbouring countries,” said Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova for the BNR.

“This is understandable because it is easier for them to come by car. In 2019 Romanian tourists were top of the list with over 1 million visits during the summer. Negotiations are underway with European countries in an epidemiological situation similar to that in Bulgaria for their tourists to start coming to Bulgaria after 15 June. No charter flights to Bulgaria after 15 June have been cancelled. There is a high probability of free traffic in Europe being restored as of 15 June if the epidemiological situation permits,” Minister Angelkova said.
