President Rumen Radev calls for change to tax policy

Investing in state-owned petrol stations under unclear conditions cannot guarantee profitability. This step shows that the state is not coping in the fight against fuel cartels and cannot provide an effective environment for free competition, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev commented during his visit to the town of Sadovo. On occasion of the proposals for lower value added tax for hotels and restaurants, President Radev pointed out that the tax policy in Bulgaria is not fair, because the current taxation model places a tax burden on the poor people and the middle-class Bulgarians. It is high time we started the debate on progressive taxation, President Rumen Radev said further.
