At a briefing Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva commented that in 2019 control reached 50% of the areas declared for subsidy, while European Commission regulations stipulate 5%. The media have been notified of the results of the checks, while farmers who have committed violations have been sanctioned.
