Regime for passage of trucks introduced at Danube Bridge at Ruse

Due to queues at the border checkpoint with Romania at Danube Bridge close to Ruse and the difficult movement in the area, the trucks in this direction will be stopped in the area of the town of Byala and in the districts of Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Pleven, the regional administration announced.

A huge 15-kilometer live of trucks has been due to the low capacity of the Danube Bridge due to repairs on the Romanian side. The situation has worsened since Romania closed the border crossings at Nikopol, Kaynardzha, Krushari and Kardam.
Apart from the Danube Bridge at Ruse, entry into Romania is currently possible only through the Danube Bridge 2 at Vidin-Calafat. But due to the repair of the main road E-79 between Botevgrad and Mezdra and the diversion of traffic on busy bypass routes, many drivers prefer to travel  to Romania via Ruse
