Prosecutor Nikolay Nikolov from the city of Ruse resigned, BNT has reported, quoting sources from the Supreme Judicial Council. It was revealed that Nikolov had sought the assistance of arrested businessman Plamen Bobokov for his election as a district prosecutor in Ruse.

Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev ordered an inspection of the entire activity of the prosecutor for a period of 3 years. The inspection will cover all files and cases assigned to the magistrate, participation in court hearings and possible omissions or violations in the exercise of his powers.
