Parliament ratified the agreement between Bulgaria and Greece regarding the gas interconnector between the two countries, signed in Sofia on 10 October, 2019.

At both readings the decision was approved unanimously and without debates. The IGB project envisages the construction of an interconnector and gas pipeline, directly connecting the national gas transmission grids of Greece and Bulgaria and will link up with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, ТАР. The IGB gas pipeline aims to strategically diversify the supply of natural gas to Bulgaria and the natural gas market in Southeastern Europe. The gas pipeline is 182 kilometres long, 151 of which on Bulgarian territory.
