“The school year will begin for 382 Bulgarian weekend schools where children study their native language, culture, history and geography of Bulgaria,” said Natalia Mihalevska, head of the “Education of Bulgarians abroad and school network” directorate of the Ministry of Education for the BNR.
“The Ministry of Education gave Bulgarians abroad a choice in 2017 – whether to study remotely, or with partial in-person attendance. So far, the people who graduated without attendance were not issued certificates of training according to the Bulgarian state standard. Now they will be able to obtain certificates which they can use upon their return to Bulgaria without having to sit for equivalency exams,” Natalia Mihalevska said.
