President Radev: Proposals for constitutional change only aim at cementing the status-quo

"The road to constitutional changes passes through the resignation of the government and the prosecutor general, through the self-dissolution of parliament and early elections". This was stated by the Bulgarian head of state Rumen Radev on his way to the Shipka peak celebrations.

"The proposals for changes in the Constitution are aimed only at gaining time and cementing the current status quo. The mafia is trying to put Bulgaria in a dead end and cover up the corruption, drawers, recordings, lawlessness, racketeering behind the illiterate chatter about a new Constitution", Radev said.

According to the head of state, the current parliament has been discredited. "It has already lost its legitimacy and dignity - you see how political parties change their positions every 24 hours," Rumen Radev added.

The President was greeted as he climbed the steps to the Shipka Freedom Monument with applause and shouts: "Bulgaria". At the monument he delivered a speech, after which wreaths and flowers were laid in front of the monument which keeps the memory of the self-sacrifice of the Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers who took part in the fateful battles 143 years ago.
