Pandemic-caused crisis leads to collapse in road transportation

At the end of the second quarter of 2020, the number of passengers transported by bus or rail in Bulgaria has decreased by 45% compared to the same period in 2019. 

The National Statistical Institute reports a decline in both domestic and international transport, which is explained with the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. 
The urban electric transport has transported almost 52% less people compared to April - June 2019. 
In the second quarter of 2020 compared to the same period a year ago, the transportation of freight by land had increased by 6.1%.
