Tsvetana Pironkova makes it to US Open quarter-finals

Tsvetana Pironkova, Bulgaria won her 4th match after her comeback to tennis after a break of more than 3 years, reaching the US Open quarter-finals for the first time.

She won the 1/8 finals match in New York versus Alizé Cornet, France by 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3, after almost three hours of play.

Pironkova will be playing her next match versus Serena Williams, holder of 23 Grand slam titles.
