The Association of Prosecutors has strongly objected to the call of the Union of Judges in Bulgaria that the Supreme Judicial Council should initiate proceedings for the removal of Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev from his post.
According to the Union of Judges, Geshev's statements, as well as his actions in specific criminal proceedings, lead to a deepening crisis of the rule of law in the country.
According to prosecutors, the call for removal of the prosecutor general from his post is "an inadmissible attempt to discredit the activities of Bulgarian prosecutors," BNR reports.
