International experts are to make an expert valuation of the 212 registered artifacts from the archaeological collection of Vassil Bojkov, a fugitive from justice in Serbia.
The investigators will establish the provenance of each one of the items, the BNR reports.
"If sufficient evidence is gathered action will be taken to declare the collection public state property," Siyka Mileva, spokesperson for the prosecutor general announced. The prosecution is of the opinion that the artifacts have been deliberately undervalued.
Aside from the official collection, 6,778 items, which appear to be cultural goods, have been seized from Bojkov’s offices. They have been acquired illegally and have been stored in violation of international standards.
