In a position by its National Council, the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) describes as “unacceptable” the call for the ratification, by Bulgaria, of the Istanbul Convention contained in the European Parliament resolution on the rule of law in Bulgaria.
The BSP also considers the mentioning of OMO Ilinden in a European document to be “damaging”. Otherwise the Bulgarian Socialist Party fully agrees with the assessment that there is a “significant deterioration of respect for the principles of rule of law, democracy and fundamental rights, including the independence of the judiciary, separation of powers, the fight against corruption and freedom of the media.”
With this position, the party calls on citizens to continue to oppose the “mafia and oligarchic administration” and to cast their vote at the next elections.
