Bulgarian old-growth forests win European Natura 2000 Awards 2020

Bulgaria’s nomination- Partnership for Protection of Bulgarian old-growth forests in Natura 200 won the vote of the European citizens in this year’s European Natura 2000 Awards 2020, the Executive Forest Agency announced.

Bulgaria’s old forests received a well-deserved award and won the vote of the European citizens for remarkable management and conservation achievements under Natura 2000- the European network of protected areas. This was announced at an online award ceremony. Bulgaria competed with 27 finalists from all EU countries and the UK. The voting was held online, BTA informs.
