President Radev: history and language may not be compromised

The members of the Bulgaria-North Macedonia Joint Commission on Historical and Educational Issues are professionals and they will seek and uphold the historical truth. My message to them is that politicians cannot abdicate from this process which is important for Bulgaria, North Macedonia and the EU, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said, BGNES reports.

It is high time to find this political solution that affirms all principles of respect for history and good neighborliness and respect for our identity and language. This is primarily the responsibility of the country which is candidate for EU membership. There is always room for compromise, but history, identity, language or requests for national minorities may not be compromised, President Radev underlined.
