The only redwood forest in Bulgaria grows near the village of Bogoslov, the latest video of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism aimed to popularize little knows places in Bulgaria shows. The first saplings were planted in the remote 1880 and the redwood seeds were brought from California by a sailor. Later, foresters planted another 100 redwood trees. Thus, the current redwood forest was formed, the Ministry of Tourism informs on its internet page.

The redwoods growing in Bulgaria are 30 meters tall and the trunk of the largest redwood tree is 9 meters tall. Redwood is known for being the largest tree in the world. The video is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s project fulfilled in partnership with representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Guides.
