European Public Prosecutor Laura Kövesi held a meeting via video conference with Bulgaria’s Deputy Prosecutor General Krasimira Filipova, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

Krasimira Filipova reiterated the position of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev that in view of Bulgaria’s future workload two delegated prosecutors to the European Public Prosecutor's Office will not be enough. She pointed out that besides synchronization with the European Parliament, the expected changes to the Penal Procedure Code and to the Judicial System Act will also guarantee the independence of the European prosecutors in their work.
