Diplomatic relations between Cyprus and Bulgaria were established immediately after the proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960.
The two countries enjoy friendship and cooperation both bilaterally and within the European Union, the Council of Europe and other international forums. More than 30,000 Bulgarians live and work in Cyprus. Our countries cooperate intensively in the fields of politics, economy and culture. Important memoranda of understanding have been signed in the fields of energy, tourism, agriculture and rural development.
